Recorded in summer 1975 and released on Ellipsoid Records, this American spiritual/modal jazz record was featured in the Japanese guide JAZZ NEXT STANDARD and now returns on vinyl via Dutch label Kindred Spirits. Pianist Peter Fish was active on the 1970s New York jazz scene before moving into film and TV scoring; here he's joined by vocalist Jay Clayton, bassist Frank Clayton and drummer Adam Nussbaum. Influenced by Coltrane and Cecil Taylor, it balances free improvisation with clearly melodic, flowing passages.

Settima Tacca — A Cup, A Horse and Signs That Point at Wells
Ambient / Lo-Fi / Synth 2026

Settima Tacca

A Cup, A Horse and Signs That Point at Wells

Settima Tacca lives in a remote black wooden house in Russia, forest and sky outside the window, with a love for 1970s synthesizers. The new album has a lo-fi texture, dark and mysterious synth tones and plenty of gentle melodies, slow and delicate enough to loop all day; the track "Mirror" carries a cold, ethereal Sigur Rós feel. Released by Belgian label Stroom, known for its taste in understated music and forgotten records, now celebrating its tenth anniversary.
