Hi Scores
Hazy synths and sounds that resurface like a faded videotape, oscillating between the familiar and the uncanny — like the lonely path into the woods in a horror film that you know you shouldn't keep walking. Hi Scores first appeared on Skam Records in 1996 and was Boards of Canada's first widely circulated release; across just six tracks their signature aesthetic is already formed, including classics 'Turquoise Hexagon Sun' and 'Everything You Do Is A Balloon'. Now 30 years old, it finally returns to vinyl via Warp Records in a 12-inch gatefold sleeve with four large art prints.
Call Me By Your Name (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)
The Call Me By Your Name soundtrack returns to the shelves on double vinyl this October. The heat and ache of an Italian summer live in this sequencing — Sufjan Stevens's commissioned 'Mystery of Love' and 'Visions of Gideon' sit alongside piano pieces by Ryuichi Sakamoto and John Adams and a scattering of eighties dance tracks, adding up to a full arc of first love and farewell. Limited quantities.

STUTS and Taeko Onuki say good morning. This 7-inch pairs Onuki's lyrics with music co-written by the two of them, arranged and produced by STUTS, with an instrumental on the B-side. Satoshi Takeshima and An Suhara handle the string arrangements, joined by flute, trumpet and a full string section, recorded at Onkio Haus and mastered by Nicolas de Porcel. Out November 26.
Johto Legends: Music from Pokémon Gold & Silver
Johto Legends is an hour-long orchestral reworking of Pokémon Gold & Silver, scaling up melodies a whole generation still carries around. Ryan Brinkerhoff's packaging does the heavy lifting: gold-foil outer sleeve, gold-and-silver foiled inners, half-black half-white split vinyl, and a fold-out Johto map spread that is the real centerpiece. Restocked in November — this batch has already sold out.
One of the essential figures in Japanese ambient, new age and healing music. Fumio Miyashita founded Far East Family Band and was central to Japan's early psychedelic and space rock scene, until a stage accident injured his back and led him to acupuncture and Eastern medicine — and from there to the relationship between sound and healing. After moving to Los Angeles he built a small studio in his Hollywood home, layering synthesizers at night over field recordings he'd brought from Japan, making tapes to give away as meditation music. Ryusuifudou is one of them. He passed copies to acupuncturists to play during treatment, patients reportedly improved, and the path he spent the rest of his life on opened up. On vinyl November 9.
