PAST FORWARD: SILVER
Jazzy Sport, a Japanese label two decades deep, formally plants its flag in London. Compiled by Nina Yamada, it runs across hip-hop, house, jazz and broken beat, gathering Cro-Magnon, Grooveman Spot and Nubian Lady alongside remixes from DJ Mitsu the Beats and Idjut Boys. The first release for Jazzy Sport London, issued by UK label Time Capsule, distilling the genre-agnostic taste the label has built since 2002.
Hideo Shiraki In FIESTA = 祭の幻想
A pyramid-tier classic of Japanese jazz. Legendary drummer Hideo Shiraki's 1961 masterwork gets its first mono vinyl reissue in over 60 years. The title track, written by Kazuo Yashiro back in 1958, folds Japanese melody and koto into cold, deep modal jazz that still sounds ahead of its time. Alongside Shiraki's explosive drumming sit Hidehiko Matsumoto and Yuzuru Sera, holding an astonishing intensity from end to end.
Don't Be Dumb
The title doubles as a warning — don't be dumb — on a genre-crossing hip-hop concept record. A$AP Rocky's long-delayed album, its artwork done with Tim Burton, finally landed; the 2LP restocks in October.
No Need To Argue (30th Anniversary Edition)
Thirty years on, The Cranberries' defining album returns. Beyond the original LP, the double-vinyl edition carries new mixes, unreleased live material from Woodstock 1994, and the demo of 'Zombie' everyone comes back for.
Call In Sick / 球体
A killer 7-inch that's been out of stock forever finally gets repressed. Side A pairs 'Call In Sick' with chelmico's rap; side B hands '球体' to Moeka Shiotsuka of Hitsujibungaku. The Xavier project — built around Masayuki Ishii, ZAK and Yumiko Ohno — returns to press six years on, due next January.
好好的 BE GOOD
Misi Ke's 'BE GOOD' in a Japan-only coloured pressing, limited to forty copies. The Japanese edition adds the bonus track '12000 km (Japanese version)' and comes with a poster carrying Chinese-Japanese lyric translations for every song.
Yanqui U.X.O.
Some records aren't for relaxing — they're for knocking you awake. In 2002 Godspeed You! Black Emperor went to Chicago and cut their third album with Steve Albini, stripping away the samples and field recordings and letting the sheer weight of the instruments speak: stacked walls of guitar, drums like distant shelling. U.X.O. means unexploded ordnance; there isn't a lyric on it, yet the rage and grief are unmistakable. The double LP runs nearly nine minutes longer than the CD.
Luv(sic) Hexalogy Live at Liquidroom
Six songs that carried a lot of people through their youth. Nujabes and Shing02 wrote the Luv(sic) hexalogy across more than a decade, the final chapters finished after Nujabes was gone. In March 2024 Shing02 and the OMA band played all six straight through at Tokyo's LIQUIDROOM on live instruments — Uyama Hiroto on sax and keys, Spin Master A-1 on turntables — closing with 'Battlecry'. Limited to 3,000 individually numbered copies worldwide.
puffette
Phuket-born pami joined Thai indie label JUICEY in 2023, labelmate to the much-loved HYBS. Her 2025 debut 'puffette' rippled straight through Asia's indie scene, with the single 'pity dirty' catching ears on the strength of its odd, vivid personal aesthetic and dreamy production. To mark her first Taiwan headline show in November, a Taiwan-exclusive pink-and-white split pressing arrives via JUICEY and earthtone, limited to 400 copies.
Racco
A cornerstone of Japanese jazz, described by Deep Jazz Reality's Yusuke Ogawa as tough, exhilarating and bright. Drummer Ryojiro Furusawa, active from the 1970s into the 2010s, wrote every track here, swinging from deep, unrestrained modal and funky jazz into warm, easy calypso. The range looks scattershot on paper yet a single bracing life force runs through it. Reissued on high-fidelity Pure Vinyl.
VOID, / ウー・ルー
Fuyumi Abe pairs her 2026 single 'Void,' with 2025's 'Wu-Lu' on a 7-inch for the first time. The A-side, sung entirely in English, is arranged by Kei Kawano — the man behind Hikaru Utada's 'First Love' — weaving acoustic guitar and strings into something quiet and finely drawn. The B-side reunites her with composer Akiko Higashikawa, wrapping small interior feelings in warm ensemble playing and a weightless melody.
All Kinds of People ~love Burt Bacharach
Produced by Jim O'Rourke in 2010, this Burt Bacharach tribute gathers eleven singers to reinterpret his standards. The cast is remarkable — Haruomi Hosono, Chu Kosaka, Etsuko Yakushimaru of Soutaiseiriron, Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth, and, unexpectedly, Kahimi Karie. Familiar melodies get turned over without losing their warm romantic pull. Reissued now as a gatefold LP with a cassette edition alongside.
The third volume of Cosmocities' compilation series introducing Japanese electronic music to the world, curated by label head Matt Soulie. It opens with Yosi Horikawa's suspended, organically textured 'Bubbles' and moves through Chari Chari, Force Of Nature, XTAL and Takuya Matsumoto, with a Kuniyuki remix on the back half drifting between introspective electronics and dancefloor groove. Ten tracks spanning ambient, house, jazz, techno and experimental music.
