Earthquake Island
Hassell's second album for Tomato, joined by Naná Vasconcelos and Miroslav Vitouš, pushing the Fourth World haze toward hotter Brazilian rhythm and jazz improvisation. The carnival-like cover painting mirrors the record's sound.
Dream Theory In Malaya (Fourth World Volume Two)
The second Fourth World volume, inspired by anthropological accounts of Malaysia's Senoi people and their dream-guided life. With Brian Eno co-producing, water sounds, vocal samples and trumpet form a corridor between field recording and electronic dream.
Power Spot
Produced by Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois for ECM. Trumpet lines circle slowly through wide reverberant space — Hassell at his calmest and most approachable.
Desert Fairy Princess
A spiritual jazz classic on LA's Nimbus West, the only solo album flautist Adele Sebastian made in her short life. Her flute and voice rise through an ensemble from the Horace Tapscott lineage — gentle, yet unmistakably determined.
So Tonight That I Might See
A record made for late nights, reissued on limited purple vinyl for the UK's National Album Day 2026. Hope Sandoval's hazy, intoxicating voice sinks slowly through 'Fade Into You' — still dream pop's defining moment.
Fukushima / 福島
A sextet led by Tokyo saxophonist and flautist Sinsuke Fujieda, hailed as one of 2025's finest and best-selling jazz records. Modal jazz's steady frame meets spiritual jazz's depth, with violinist Fumiko Takeshita drawing taut, poetic string lines. Co-produced by France's Superfly Records and Japan's Production Dessinée.
BCR10 Ten Years of Big Crown Records
A tenth-anniversary compilation from Big Crown Records, now a cornerstone of contemporary independent soul. It opens with Hamburg steel-pan outfit Bacao Rhythm & Steel Band — the melody heard in Anatomy of a Fall — then threads through a decade of Bobby Oroza, The Shacks, Lady Wray and Thee Marloes. The 2LP gatefold carries liner notes by journalist Jeff Mao.
lovely moments
The second album from a子, known for her red hair and breathy delivery, blending indie pop, alt-rock and a hazy urban feel. It includes 'Turn It Up' (ending theme for the Darwin's Incident anime) and 'MOVE MOVE' (opening for Uchujin MuuMuu season two). The Japanese LP came in a strictly limited allocation.
Esperanza
Bass in her arms, singing as she plays, Esperanza Spalding moves between Brazilian bossa nova, soul and contemporary jazz — light on its feet but deeply grounded. Her New York Times–lauded debut, previously CD and digital only, finally arrives on vinyl: a gatefold 2LP on eco jade green wax with two additional tracks from the original sessions, 'O Bem Do Mar' and 'Sunlight'.
Black Voices
The 1999 album where Afrobeat's kingpin rewrote the genre's history. Allen absorbed everything around him and fused it anew, bringing in Doctor L for a lean, modern electronic finish and Parliament-Funkadelic members on harmonies. Reissued by original label Comet in 2018 with a Psyche Juju Mix of 'Ariya' added.
Jazzy Sport Presents: Past Forward
The first catalogue compilation from Jazzy Sport London, curated by Nina Yamada, who works between Japan and the UK. It re-examines Japanese music lineage through a contemporary lens across hip hop, house and electronic production — DJ Mitsu the Beats' remix of Cro-Magnon's 'Eclipse', an Idjut Boys dub rework and Grooveman Spot's 'Do The Dance' all land beautifully sour.
Here Because Of Hope
Ezra Collective's new album, issued by THT as a worldwide-limited 300-copy khaki vinyl. It travels from African musical language through Caribbean rhythm and back to the London street, with some of the most assured use of dub heard in a while — joy that crosses generations and geographies. Three spoken passages read by Letitia Wright thread the record together.
Madlib's seven-LP Beat Konducta series collected as a deluxe box for the first time, with the exclusive inclusion of Vol. 0: Earth Sounds, recorded 1994–96 and issued in a limited run in 2001. The set gathers Vol. 1-2: Movie Scenes, Vol. 3-4: In India, and Vol. 5-6: Dil Cosby Suite and Dil Withers Suite — the latter a tribute to the late J Dilla — each pressed as a limited gatefold double LP.
