Magic Boy — Live At Berkeley, 1st Show
The official live recording of Jimi Hendrix's first show at Berkeley Community Theater in 1970, released for the first time as a 2LP with the complete set in its original running order. From 'Fire' and 'Machine Gun' to 'Voodoo Child (Slight Return),' it captures the raw power of Hendrix's late-career stage.
Ride Lonesome
Beck revisits the introspective mood of 'Morning Phase' and 'Sea Change,' producing the whole record himself. Acoustic guitar, lush string arrangements and a narrative voice return him to a quieter, more cinematic and minimal songwriting mode.
Before the World Blows
After 16 years, Erykah Badu finally returns with a new studio album, joining forces with hip-hop producer The Alchemist. Soul, jazz, funk and underground hip-hop are re-woven into something psychedelic and forward-looking; structured in four chapters on love, memory, dreams and femininity, with guests including Kamasi Washington.
M.T.T.
The 20th-anniversary album from Japan's leading Afrobeat band JariBu Afrobeat Arkestra, their first in roughly seven years. Rooted in Fela Kuti's Afrobeat, its seven originals range from varied tempos to punchy brass riffs, shaping a Neo Afrobeat of their own. Cover art by MAGNUM, bassist of Kansai band STEPAK TAKRAW.
Another Side of “Days of Delight” vol.2
The second compilation from new-generation Japanese jazz label Days of Delight, gathering unreleased vault recordings from past sessions, all issued for the first time. Its ten tracks span generations of players — Masafumi Yamaguchi, Miki Hirose, Natsuki Kido, Shinpei Ruike, Shun Ishiwaka — like unearthed side-paths beyond the finished albums.
Woodstock Generation
A dream masterpiece by Japanese jazz saxophonist Jiro Inagaki and his legendary Soul Media, officially reissued as the 11th installment of the 'Spin this now!' series. It captures the fevered energy of the late-'60s to early-'70s and stands among the peaks of Japanese jazz-rock — jazz at its core, boldly fused with rock, funk and psychedelia.
Guitar Workshop
The second of 'Spin This Now! Vol.11': the 1970 album 'Guitar Workshop' gathers four pivotal guitarists in Japanese jazz history — Kiyoshi Sugimoto, Ryo Kawasaki, Yoshiaki Masuo and Masayuki Takayanagi — trading turns. Takayanagi & Mass Projection's performance, likened to 'opening the gates of hell,' is the standout in its all-annihilating free-jazz force. Originally released on Union Records.
You Can Fly On My Aeroplane
A collaboration between 9m88 and YUMA HARA, a rare-groove cover of Wee's 'You Can Fly On My Aeroplane' — a Japanese-language A-side and an English B-side, returning next January on a blue 7-inch.
Hidden In Pieces — Live at the Royal Albert Hall
Marking twenty-five years as a band, Yeah Yeah Yeahs' live album recorded over two nights at London's Royal Albert Hall collects classics from across their career, re-arranged with strings, piano and double bass for a more intimate, moving guise — with additional live performances from San Diego, Chicago, New York and Mexico City.
Do For Love / Second Fonk
Wa Yo Set, an Osaka Hip Hop Jazz band in the spirit of JABBERLOOP, launch their own label YELLO LAB with a long-awaited new 7-inch. The A-side reworks 2Pac's 'Do for Love' (built on Bobby Caldwell's classic) as an instrumental, while the original B-side 'Second Fonk' turns toward New Orleans funk with a more mature, tight-knit groove.
The centerpiece of 'Spin This Now! Vol.11': a rare album by free-jazz guitar master Masayuki Takayanagi, released in 1970. Recorded over roughly six hours at Teichiku Hall in September 1969 by a trio of Takayanagi, Yoshisaburo Toyozumi and Motoharu Yoshizawa. Beyond dense collective improvisation, Takayanagi's solo pieces reveal a delicate classical-guitar tone and a strange, freewheeling sonic imagination.
