A gathering of legendary Okinawan singers — Seijin Noborikawa, Tetsuhiro Daiku, Sadao China, Misako Oshiro — spanning generations of shima-uta masters. Collects 1975 Victor Studio sessions cut amid the fervour of Okinawa's reversion to Japan, plus rare live tapes. Compiled by DJ SASA for this year's Record Day.

For Coltrane's centenary, OJC delivers an all-analog reissue of this 1958 classic (later retitled 'Traneing In'). Cut at Rudy Van Gelder's studio in 1957 with Red Garland, Paul Chambers and Art Taylor, it captures peak hard bop. AAA remaster from the original tapes, 180g.

The 2009 solo debut from Libertines/Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty, its original pressing long a collector's item, now remastered and reissued. Recorded at London's Olympic Studios with Blur guitarist Graham Coxon playing across nearly the whole record and Dot Allison guesting on vocals.

A rare gem from Scottish diggers Athens Of The North — a vinyl reissue of this 1985 obscurity by High Rise, a cult act from mid-80s Chicago's boogie/soul scene. Syrupy basslines and whispered floating vocals conjure an analog-era intimacy that uncannily echoes Men I Trust.
