Bassist-vocalist Kurena Ishikawa of soraya delivers her first full album — and first as self-producer — three years after her 2023 mini-album Kurena. All eight tracks are sung by her, mixing originals with covers of Roy Ayers' 'Searching' and Minnie Riperton's 'Les Fleurs.' Backed by a stellar band including Takeshi Obayashi, Taka Nawashiro and Gene Jackson, it's a headline release for this year's Record Day Japan.

Her 2022 debut EP Nail no Shima — the starting point of her career — gathers early signatures like 'Inori' and 'Grey Zone' plus the 90s-R&B-tinged 'Amber,' which recalls Utada Hikaru. Cut to vinyl for the first time as she becomes a Record Day 2026 ambassador.

Salasa's first album Inner Ocean pushes further into her own sound, keeping the Soul and R&B foundation while bringing in fuller band arrangements. It features a DJ Mitsu the Beats remix of 'Amber,' and 'Hi wo Tsukete' brings in Yogee New Waves' Ikuya Takemura and Tetsuji Kasuya. Reissued on clear vinyl.

KID FRESINO's first-ever live album captures his solo show '21' at Tokyo Garden Theater on February 8, issued as a 2LP. The set opens with Kazuhiko Fujita — dubbed the 'fourth member' of Fla$hBackS — DJing, before Fresino launches in with 'Kids Return,' left behind by the late JJJ. The setlist spans his whole career, matched by a superb cast of players.

London jazz-scene multi-instrumentalist Robohands plays drums, guitar, bass, piano and synths all himself.
