The soundtrack to An Elephant Sitting Still, the first and only film by late Chinese director Hu Bo, composed by Hualun. From 'Blue Fireworks' to 'The Elephant', folk and post-rock weave the film's long, smouldering melancholy. Restocked in October.
1970
A phantom 1970 session, unreleased until now. Then just 18 and still in The Golden Cups, keyboard prodigy Mickey Yoshino gathered players like Masahiko Satoh and Takeshi Inomata for a startling jazz-rock-psych date. Lost until the tapes surfaced in 2008, it finally reaches vinyl with a fresh 2026 remaster.
Dur-Dur Volume 3 & 4 1988-1989
Crate-digging label Analog Africa strikes again with Somali golden-age funk legends Dur-Dur Band. Collecting 1988–1989's Volume 3 & 4, it fuses traditional Somali melody, African rhythm, soul and disco-funk, thick with psychedelic synths and raw horns. Double LP with archival photos and notes.
The origin point of Japanese saxophonist and flautist Sinsuke Fujieda's Fukushima. Recorded live in 2021 alongside live painting, it runs from the near-primal cry of 'Fukushima' to the 19-minute sweep of 'Gentle Erosion', raw one moment and dramatically orchestrated the next. Reworked, remixed and issued on vinyl for the first time.
