Static Cleaner Lost Reward — Breathing Under Honey
Experimental / Dub / Outsider 2023

Static Cleaner Lost Reward

Breathing Under Honey

via Beethobear Records View post →

A curious record first issued on the now-shuttered underground label Low Company, sold out on first press and now repressed in a flash. Don’t be fooled by the playful sleeve — beneath the woozy haze lie deeply catchy melodies. Static Cleaner Lost Reward is the alias of Melbourne underground polymath Tarquin Manek, a frequent collaborator of Carla dal Forno, here delivering a cool, hallucinatory oddity.

FROM — Power On!
Jazz-Rock / Fusion 1972

FROM

Power On!

The second album by German jazz-rock quintet FROM, from 1972 — tightly wound playing captured in remarkably full, dimensional sound. The 17-minute opener “Festival Rock / Use The Bridge” is the highlight, Hammond organ, electric piano, sax and drums interlocking like Miles Davis’s In A Silent Way meeting Soft Machine, a quiet menace simmering underneath. First-ever reissue, 180g, on Free Flow Archive.

田辺信一とアルフレッド・ザ・グレイト・ブラス — 松岡きっこのラブ・ラブ25時
Showa Kayo / Mood / Easy Listening 1971

田辺信一とアルフレッド・ザ・グレイト・ブラス

松岡きっこのラブ・ラブ25時

A 1971 Japanese “mood music” cult favourite — the sole record left by actress Kikko Matsuoka, host of the late-night TV show 11PM. Arranged by Shinichi Tanabe (famed for the Kindaichi Kosuke soundtracks), it reworks the pop tunes of the day into sultry instrumentals, with Matsuoka’s breathy spoken interludes woven between. Sold out after its 2021 RSD Japan vinyl, now reissued on pink colour vinyl.
