DOWN TOWN
After their covers of Pizzicato Five's 'Tokyo wa Yoru no Shichi-ji' and Mariya Takeuchi's 'Plastic Love,' Havana-based Latin jazz outfit Kono y Los Chicos de Cuba — led by Japanese percussionist KONO — takes on Sugar Babe's classic 'DOWN TOWN.' Driving Cuban grooves and bright brass with guest vocals from mizqui make this 7" a summer essential.
Masters of the Artistry
Bop Alloy — MC Substantial (a longtime Nujabes collaborator) and beatmaker Marcus D — return after two years of refinement with an album of mellow, poetic Jazz Hip Hop featuring Blu, Uyama Hiroto, and One Be Lo. This single-LP edition is pressed on gold-marbled translucent red vinyl with hand-drawn manga-style cover art by Shuhei Matsuyama.
Melancholy Prequel (Rising Sun Redux)
Marcus D's elusive 2012 work, born from sessions for 'Melancholy Hopeful' and originally pressed in just 100 copies. The album moves naturally between Jazz, Soul, Boom Bap and Lo-fi Hip Hop with his signature warm samples and live instrumentation — 'Kichijouji' captures the air of his life in Tokyo with cinematic restraint.
Schema 1+2
Dowser — Hiroyuki Nagashima (instruments / mix / master), Masateru Terai (instruments / voice), and Takashi Miyagawa (graphic design / automatic drawings) — return with 'Schema 1+2,' a CD release on Japan's All Horned Animals label sitting between electronic experimentation and sonic graphic-work.
TEA FOR TEARS
Junko Ohashi's 1981 solo return after Minoya Central Station disbanded — a showcase of her vocal command that contains the classic 'Telephone Number.' Reissued on clear vinyl as a limited first-press edition.
POINT ZERO
Co-produced in 1983 by Takeshi Sato and Teruo Nakamura with NYC heavyweights John Tropea and Anthony Jackson on board. 'Sensual Night' rides a TR-808 pulse through pure 80s urban-boogie nightscape, and the closing 'Sugao no Mama de' lingers in the air. Reissued on purple vinyl in a limited first-press edition.
恋の予感
A reimagining of Anzen Chitai's classic 'Koi no Yokan' (words by Yousui Inoue, music by Koji Tamaki), led by Japanese R&B veteran Momoe Shimano. Her voice intertwines with SONOMI's to give the wistful melody new shape, with a B-side remix by KRAVA's DJ Goro Kumai.
It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
Vince Guaraldi's beloved score for the Peanuts special 'It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,' issued for the first time on limited 45rpm zoetrope picture-disc vinyl. The set gathers 'Linus and Lucy,' 'The Great Pumpkin Waltz,' graveyard themes and a generous run of alternate takes — the definitive Halloween jazz statement.
Trek
Sydney four-piece Shady Nasty's debut, named one of Rolling Stone Australia's 50 best Australian albums of 2025. Fred again.. has called them his current favourite band — a connection that led to 'HARDSTYLE 2' with KETTAMA. Released on Ninja Tune; this edition is pressed on green vinyl.
Distance In Static
Bonobo's new 2LP brings together Joy Crookes, Ichiko Aoba, Nilüfer Yanya, Arooj Aftab, Nicole Miglis (Hundred Waters) and Aanya Martin, weaving Persian sampling with lyrics in English, Urdu and Japanese — a wide-screen statement that condenses a decade of his sonic interests.
My Name is SOLEIL
SOLEIL's debut, now issued on stereo-mix vinyl. Lead singer Soleil was just 14 when the band stepped out, paying homage to 60s Girl Pop, The Beatles and Motown through warm mono recording — a uniquely affectionate piece of Shibuya-kei-tinted retro pop.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (Original Series Soundtrack)
Soundtrack to Studio TRIGGER's 'Cyberpunk: Edgerunners' on 180g translucent purple-marbled vinyl with original cover art. Includes Franz Ferdinand's 'This Fffire' and Dawid Podsiadło's 'Let You Down' alongside the show's Yamaoka / Przybyłowicz / Adamczyk score.
Original Soundtrack
Vinyl pressings of the 'Clair Obscur: Expedition 33' soundtrack — the celebrated turn-based RPG's score that sold out overseas on first release. THT has the 2LP and 6LP editions back in stock (CDs remain cut from allocation).
Frozen Charlotte
Hot off a global tour, Jack White and his band — drummer Patrick Keeler, bassist Dominic Davis, and keyboardist Bobby Emmett — cut these 13 songs at Third Man Studio in Nashville. The album keeps the manic energy of the last record while leaning deeper into White's blues roots.
バイオリン スタジオジブリ2 ~海の見える風景~
This year's most-talked-about Japan RSD Ghibli release: violinist Lisako Oshima's second volume of Ghibli arrangements, this time with pianist Keigo Takakura, reimagining the studio's seaside classics as violin-piano duos. Cover art by former Ghibli background painter Yoichi Watanabe and animator Shin'ichirō Yamada. Sold out across Japan.
Born from a 2010 tribute to Nujabes, Marcus D and Cise Star's collaboration blends Jazzy Hip-Hop, Soul and mellow groove. Built around Rhodes piano and layered with live guitar, bass and flute, the album evokes the soft glow of a late-night city; Cise Star's introspective lyrics on 'Earth Angel' map love and cosmic longing. Now reissued on silver vinyl with gold galaxy marbling.
