Vila
Delicate, fluid nylon-string guitar interlaces with sweeping orchestral arrangements, transporting you to a breezy, memory-laden Brazilian backstreet. Guitarist Fabiano Do Nascimento teams with the 16-piece Vittor Santos Orchestra on this album inspired by Bairro Saavedra, the quiet Rio courtyard of his childhood — small-city reverie turned into deeply soothing songs.
Sunshower
Japanese saxophonist Kosuke Mine's 1976 East Wind classic, reissued for the first time on vinyl as part of the Spin This Now! Vol. 9 series. Mine ran his sax through a wah pedal, lending it a psychedelic, attacking edge: opener "We Got Our Dance" gallops on a Latin pulse with deep synth, while the B-side title track rides a sharp funk beat and wah-wah guitar. With Mikio Masuda, Hideaki Mochizuki and others — clearly under the spell of Miles Davis's electric era.
Hip Dancin'
A 1976 East Wind classic from legendary Japanese bassist Isao Suzuki, with American bassist Sam Jones, drummer Billy Higgins, plus Kazumi Watanabe and Fumio Karashima in tow. Suzuki concentrates on cello here — his duet with Sam Jones on "Falling In Love With Love" is the highlight, alongside the original title track and a cover of Cannonball Adderley's "Sack O' Woe." Reissued on vinyl for the first time via Spin This Now! Vol. 9.
Life
Japanese pianist Tsuyoshi Yamamoto's second East Wind album, with the legendary American rhythm pair of bassist Sam Jones and drummer Billy Higgins. From the opening standard "On Green Dolphin Street" to the tender ballad reading of "If You Could See Me Now," the trio plays with relaxed swing and pristine warmth — a quintessential East Wind session, finally reissued in the Spin This Now! Vol. 9 batch.
Without References / Cindy Van Acker
Japanese cult post-rock band goat (JP) compose a percussive, jolting score for Swiss choreographer Cindy van Acker's Without References, in which eleven dancers oscillate between waiting room, station hall and installation art. Led by Osaka's Koshiro Hino (also YPY, Kakuhan), the band's guitars, bass, drums and percussion knit machine-precise yet bodily rhythms. Released on Latency Recordings.
Without References / Cindy Van Acker (Variations)
Minimal techno pioneer Ricardo Villalobos reworks "Orin" and "Factory" from goat (JP)'s Cindy van Acker score, dissolving them into deeper, more hypnotic electronic grooves. A 12-inch companion piece to the main LP, sliding the work from corporeal performance into clubland trance. Released on Latency Recordings.
未完成 + 「△」サンカク
Sincere, explosive, twisted, uncompromising — bloodthirsty butchers' DNA runs through the Japanese and Taiwanese underground. Their 1996 album Misenseii (未完成) is now reissued together with the 2003 EP "△" Sankaku as a 2LP+7" set. As capable of drawing sweat and tears as Eastern Youth, with the same deep roots Number Girl and early Shiina Ringo grew from — the sound of adolescence held forever.
Yours Truly
With a new album on the horizon, THT brings Ariana Grande's 2013 debut Yours Truly back to vinyl. The pivot from Nickelodeon child star to mainstream pop singer, blending doo-wop and modern R&B — "The Way" gave her her first hit.
My Everything
Ariana Grande's second studio album and the record that turned her into a full-blown pop powerhouse. "Problem" and "Break Free" dominated charts, with collaborations spanning Iggy Azalea and Zedd. On LP.
Sweetener
Largely produced by Pharrell Williams, Ariana's fourth studio album drifts her R&B palette into hazier, more experimental terrain. "no tears left to cry" and "God is a woman" marked her crossover into artist mode and earned her her first Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album. 2LP.
Thank U, Next
Written and recorded in roughly six months in the wake of loss and breakups, with "thank u, next" and "7 rings" becoming cultural touchstones. Ariana speaks more frankly than ever about love, self, and healing, reshaping what mainstream pop confession could sound like. 2LP.
Positions
Released during the pandemic, Ariana's sixth studio LP fully embraces grown-up, sultry, low-lit R&B. With features from Doja Cat, The Weeknd and Ty Dolla $ign, the record captures her in a more private, settled love. On LP.
Eternal Sunshine
Her first album after parting with Scooter Braun and rebuilding her life, Eternal Sunshine takes its cue from the film of the same name. The record stares down endings and the erasure of memory, with "yes, and?" and "we can't be friends (wait for your love)" anchoring the set. 2LP.
A Rush of Blood to the Head
Coldplay's second studio album and the record that turned them from indie ascendants into a stadium-sized force. "Clocks," "The Scientist" and "In My Place" all land here. Transparent 1LP.
X&Y
Their third album leans into cold synth textures and cosmic imagery, with Kraftwerk and U2 as touchstones. "Fix You" became a permanent fixture of their live show. 2LP transparent vinyl.
Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends
Produced by Brian Eno, Coldplay's fourth album pivots from the chill of X&Y into warmth, religious imagery and a heightened art-pop posture. The title track netted them their first Grammy for Song of the Year. Transparent 1LP.
Mylo Xyloto
A vivid pop-rock concept album wrapped in graffiti aesthetics and dystopian story arcs, with Rihanna guesting on "Princess of China." The point where Coldplay fully embraced pop hooks. Transparent 1LP.
Ghost Stories
A spectral, restrained, broken-hearted album written in the wake of Chris Martin's split with Gwyneth Paltrow. Electronic production (Jon Hopkins, Madeon, Avicii) replaces stadium catharsis, making this their most interior record. Transparent 1LP.
A Head Full of Dreams
Coldplay's seventh album returns to bright color, big sing-along choruses and dance pulses. Cameos from Beyoncé, Tove Lo and Noel Gallagher point toward the technicolor pop they would chase next. Transparent 1LP.
Everyday Life
A double album split into Sunrise and Sunset halves that pulls in gospel, world music, jazz and ambient — Coldplay at their most stylistically restless. Transparent 2LP.
Music of the Spheres
A Max Martin–produced cosmic pop concept album, with BTS guesting on "My Universe" to set new commercial highs for the band. Their peak pop maximalism. Transparent 1LP.
Moon Music
The Music of the Spheres second chapter, pressed on recycled-PET vinyl — Coldplay's continuing environmental statement. "feelslikeimfallinginlove" leads. Transparent 1LP.
Golden Best ~35th Anniversary Vinyl Edition~
A fully limited 4LP best-of mastered by Tetsu Kotetsu to mark 35 years since Izumi Sakai's debut, covering 27 songs. Sakai — whose final 2006 work declared her intention to sing rock and remains as enigmatic as ever — defined a generation of J-Pop; any anime cue is an instant teleport. Includes a 40-page lyric book, unreleased photos and download codes.
Radical Balinese gamelan master Dewa Alit returns to Australian experimental label Black Truffle with Gamelan Salukat for Baur Bentur ("mixing and colliding"). Built around his self-designed 11-tone tuned gamelan and joined by Indonesian pianist Sri Hanuraga, the music alternates between piano and metallophones merging as one and the piano being swallowed by gamelan's dense overtones. A reverent yet startlingly forward-pushing answer to Bali music's drift toward tourism.
