Longing
Pianist Toshiyuki Sekine — whose 1978 sides 'Strode Road' and 'Love For Sale' have set off a fresh wave of demand among Asian jazz collectors — returns after three years with 'Longing'. Recorded at NK Sound on a Fazioli grand, the album is crisp, spacious and squarely aimed at piano-trio devotees.
POiSON GiRLFRiENDS
A 1991 phantom self-release — the original mini-LP from POiSON GiRL FRiEND was almost impossible to find, and now sees a first-time CD and vinyl reissue. Originally put out on nOrikO's own PSYCHO-PLANET COMMUNICATIONS, six tracks deep, and a clear window into how post-punk and UK dance shaped her early sound.
Riding With The King
The blues summit between B.B. King and Eric Clapton — winner of the 2001 Grammy for Best Traditional Blues Album — reappears as a 2LP coloured-vinyl edition.
II - Reworked
Ólafur Arnalds & Janus Rasmussen's acclaimed 'II' reopened from a different angle — five carefully chosen artists (Alex Somers, Rachika Nayar & Nina Keith, Kjartan Holm & Sin Fang) rework the whole album in order, building on its modern-classical and electronic frame while keeping the dancefloor in view.
Where The Light Is: John Mayer Live In Los Angeles
John Mayer's Nokia Theatre live recording as a Music on Vinyl 4LP 180g set, capturing acoustic, trio and full-band incarnations across one night in Los Angeles.
Blackstar
David Bowie's final act. Co-produced with Tony Visconti and built around the modern-jazz quartet led by Donny McCaslin, 'Blackstar' folds intricate arrangements, unsettled rhythms and bold experiment into an art-rock skeleton — and into something that finally has the breath of jazz.
Minecraft - Volume Alpha
C418 — the alias of the German composer 'compared to Erik Satie and Brian Eno' by the Guardian — released his first Minecraft soundtrack 'Volume Alpha' on Bandcamp in 2011. Minimal piano and gentle electronics, and quietly one of this generation's most listened-to ambient records.
K-POPS! The Album
The soundtrack to Anderson .Paak's debut Netflix film 'K-POPS!' — a 17-track collision of K-pop, R&B, hip-hop and soul featuring G-DRAGON, aespa, DEAN, NMIXX, JID, plus members of SEVENTEEN, ATEEZ and (G)I-DLE.
A long-awaited reissue of Japanese ambient pioneer Takashi Kokubo's 1990s masterpiece. Kokubo — also the designer behind Japan's iconic Emergency Earthquake Warning chime — crafts gentle, healing soundscapes from forest air, flowing water and soft, expansive electronics. A keystone of his Ion Series and one of the era's defining ambient / new-age records.
