A nearly unknown masterpiece from outside China. Pasteland is a Beijing-based electronic duo formed in 2016 in Dali by Huan Qing and Liao Kai, drawing inspiration from Kraftwerk, Brian Eno, and Ryuichi Sakamoto. Synths and electronics conjure floating shapes like vapor and air, intercut with jaw harp and other earth-bound textures. Originally released on Modern Sky's BadHead sublabel in 2019, this is the album's first Japanese CD edition, issued by Sad Disco — recommended for fans of Ambient, Minimal, New Age, and Eastern tribal electronics.

一張在中國海外幾乎未曾被認識、卻堪稱驚人的傑作。中國電子音樂雙人組雲土境樂隊由歓慶與廖凱組成，於 2016 年在大理成立，受到 Kraftwerk、Brian Eno、坂本龍一影響，透過合成器與電子聲響描繪出如空氣與水蒸氣緩慢變換形狀般的漂浮感，並將口簧琴等帶有土地氣味的聲響放入作品。團名「雲土」取自中國古語對各種帶有幻覺、鎮痛作用藥草的總稱，封面使用庄輝作品《祁連山系》，題字由楊一書寫。原於 2019 年由摩登天空旗下廠牌 BadHead 發行，本次由 Sad Disco 首度推出日本盤 2CD 限定版。

Reissued on clear vinyl by Victory. Haruomi Hosono's 1987 score for the animated adaptation of Murasaki Shikibu's Tale of Genji — modern ambient music built on Japanese court gagaku, synth pads laid behind koto, flute, and drums to spotlight the traditional instruments in fine layered detail.
