Vibraphone master Roy Ayers' 1972 milestone with his Ubiquity band, originally on Polydor, gets a proper reissue via Verve Label Group's "Verve Vault" series. The record marks Ayers' break from hard bop and full embrace of groove as the organising principle — and is one of the most sampled goldmines in hip-hop and neo-soul history: "We Live In Brooklyn Baby" was lifted by Kendrick Lamar and Mos Def, "Ain't Got Time" by J Dilla.

VOOID

baby

A 7-inch companion single to VOOID's new LP, with "baby" on the A-side and "little baby" on the flip. The dawn-purple sleeve mirrors the album's minimal, atmospheric pull.

HALFBY — The Sound Of Memory Lane
Balearic / Indie Pop / Electronic 2025

HALFBY

The Sound Of Memory Lane

HALFBY's late-2025 album finally arrives on CD. Opener "Sleep Machine" features Cornelius for a tipsy, drifting daydream, while "Between Them" gets a sweet, dreamy vocal from MIYA of Ålborg. The whole record kneads Balearic, indie pop and electronics into a soft, exotic landscape — another summer-stroll classic after the Hawaii trilogy.

Banda Maje — Costa Sud
Funk / Italian Library / World 2025

Banda Maje

Costa Sud

If a car's on the cover, just buy it. Five years after debut Ufo Bar, Banda Maje return with Costa Sud — easily one of the year's best driving records. The album rolls out like a cinematic funk road trip, blending sun-bleached atmosphere with faded beauty and escapist longing, packing Neapolitan funk, Italian soundtrack music and global elements from Brazil and Africa into eight songs that fit snugly in an old car.
