Brazilian Alagoas singer-songwriter Bruno Berle returns with Sem Fronteiras, made with longtime collaborator Batata Boy and released on the UK's Far Out Recording. Berle has cited Arthur Russell and Hiroshi Yoshimura as touchstones, and the same hushed introspection runs through this set — gauzy folk that lingers like the half-remembered tail of a morning dream.
Miles '56: The Prestige Recordings
1956 — the year jazz history was rewritten. For Miles Davis's centenary in 2026, the official anniversary box gathers his peak Prestige sessions in full, fronting the storied quintet with Coltrane, Red Garland, Paul Chambers and Philly Joe Jones. J Jazz: Deep Modern Jazz From Japan Vol. 5
BBE Music's monumental Wa Jazz reissue series reaches its final chapter. Volume 5 digs deeper than ever — Toshiyuki Honda and Yasuhiro Kohno cuts alongside long-buried private-press miracles like Crystal Zone's 1971 promo-only Rai Rai, a fever-dream of psychedelic ethnic jazz unearthed for the first time. The 3LP deluxe ships with a custom obi and gatefold photography from the legendary Tokyo Jazz Joints.

Dope Purple meet Acid Mothers Temple's Kawabata Makoto on a live recording fuelled by 59-proof Kinmen sorghum and total dissolution. Released to coincide with the band's UK/Europe tour kicking off May 15, Live Evil arrives on coral-pink vinyl, remixed by frontman Liu Chien-pai and mastered by P.S.F. Records veteran Takeshi Yoshida — the entire night captured in full, with previously unheard new track LxOxVxE. Pressing of just over 100 copies.

Before the Mercury Prize and the BRITs, on a 2016 night at Abbey Road, Ezra Collective sat in a circle and tracked their first record in one go.
